Australia’s favourite camping and country music festival has announced their ambassador for 2016.
Singer and songwriter Beccy Cole will be the face of the Gympie Muster for its 35th year, her appointment a significant coup for the Muster as the light shines on the iconic Queensland event.
Festival director Jeff Chandler said they were elated about the choice.
“We could not be more excited that Beccy has agreed to accept the role of Muster Ambassador for the 2016 Festival,” Mr Chandler said.
Ms Cole said she is taking on the role with enthusiasm.
“I first took to the main stage of the Gympie Music Muster in 1993, twenty three years on and I’ll be there again but this time as the Ambassador for this iconic event’s 35th year being delivered,” she said.
“At the Gympie Music Muster I have met new friends, old friends and even done film clips. This event has truly become a part of my career fabric. To be the Ambassador on their 35th year is fantastic and I take on this role with excitement, enthusiasm and happiness knowing I’m part of such a remarkable milestone.”
After the Muster event in August this year, organisers undertook an extensive patron survey and asked patrons for feedback on possible ambassadors. The feedback was overwhelming.
“Our patron’s wanted Beccy and we have delivered for 2016,” Mr Chandler said.
“The feedback also told us that the ‘Muster Experience’ is all about camping, mates and great music and all these are set to play a key role in the 35th Muster, which will see some exciting new innovations and the return of some old favourites as the Muster continues to deliver on its reputation as Australia’s favourite camping and music festival.”
More specific details on the line-up for 2016 will be announced later this month along with ticket pricing, and a very special Muster 35th Birthday limited ticket offer.
