Brighten the winter months with a splash of passion

Australians are set to enjoy an abundance of sweet and tangy passionfruit this winter, with growers currently harvesting a healthy crop that will bring a taste of the tropics to the cooler months.

Queensland passionfruit grower Ross Brindley says after a sunny and warm summer plenty of great quality passionfruit will be hitting stores by the end of May.

“The weather we experienced over summer has set the fruit very well, and the major growing regions are picking fruit of a remarkable quality,” said Brindley.

It’s great news for passionfruit lovers as growers are reporting an increase in fruit size from last year.

Ross says, “Our fruit this season is looking great. The fruit is bursting with pulp and a sweet flavour, which we know many people enjoy.”
