If you are looking for some fun in the sun, then the annual Whitsunday Reef Festival is the place to be.
There’s just enough time to make the event, which runs from 1 – 8 August in picturesque Airlie Beach.
The week will start with the Porters Fireworks on the Foreshore on Friday 1 Augus and those who like to get their groove on can then dance the night away at the Beach Music Stage to Aussie boy band – The Collective and X Factor star Nathaniel.
On Saturday, the Rotary Club Street Parade will feature more than 25 colourful floats and entertainment bringing Airlie Beach to life followed by the Main Street Party including world renowned act The Basics, The Twine and local band Sun Salute.
The week will also include crazy fun and games at the Telstra Whitsunday Family Fun Day and the Schweppes Recyclable Regatta will leave you in stitches as kids and adults race across the Airlie Beach Lagoon in homemade rafts made from recyclables.
On August 8 you can dress up for Frocktails, a night full of glamour with a fashion parade, delectable canapés and live music.
The Whitsunday Reef Festival, presented by True Blue Sailing, is now in its 14th year and features many more events, including the Comedy Gala presenting Steven J. Whiteley, Ellen Briggs and Paul Brasch. For more information, visit www.whitsundayreeffestival.
