After an 18-month battle with cancer, legendary singer David Bowie has passed away, aged 69.
The sad news was confirmed this afternoon via his official Facebook page and by his son, Zowie Bowie, through Twitter.
“Very sorry and sad to say it’s true. I’ll be offline for a while. Love to all,” read Zowie’s tweet.
While Bowie’s last performance was back in 2006 in New York, just last week he released a new album, Blackstar. It was also his birthday last week.
Bowie was widely known not solely for his popular hits, but also for his dramatic costumes and transformations, and eccentric film roles.
