After fifty years on our airwaves and screens Ken Sutcliffe has called it a day and is heading back to where it all began, in his home town of Mudgee. Dan Morris met up with Ken for a chat.
He’s been the face of sport for over three decades on the Nine Network and a permanent fixture on our television screens. Ken Sutcliffe has enlightened us with his reports as a long time host with The Wide World of Sport including his globe trotting assignments to Wimbledon, US Masters Golf, Football World Cups, Summer Olympics, Winter Olympics, Commonwealth Games, Rugby League Grand Finals and State of Origins.
Always the professional and a legend on Australian television, Ken excelled at Channel 9 for 37 years and retires at the top with Nine winning the ratings in 2016. He worked with many of the best TV personalities in the business. As co-host on Graeme Kennedy’s News Show he had Australia in fits of laughter and worked alongside fellow greats Brian Henderson and Ray Warren.
